I’ve got to admit as an introvert by nature I’m a fan of social distancing and staying at home voluntarily.

Mr W&D on the other hand is not. Poor guy. He’s going to start walking around the block several times a day.

But when I realized my weekly Starbucks jaunt was now forbidden…I was a tiny bit saddened.

Bear in mind I know how serious this global pandemic is and there’s no way I’m going to put myself or anyone else at risk for a coffee.

So, I took to the interwebs and voila! An answer from the quarantine Gods and Google!

Vice magazine first reported on this 3 ingredient creamy coffee drink so easy it will confuse you.

It’s Dalgona coffee hailing from South Korea and made with equal parts instant coffee, white sugar, and water.

Whipped until rich, fluffy, and caramel in color. It reminds me of the frappes made in Greece, but way more luxurious.

Seriously, when I read the ingredients and instructions I thought something was missing. It’s not. Just try it. Thank you South Korea.

Dalgona Coffee (aka Coffee Stirred 400 Times):

  • 2 tbsp instant coffee
  • 2 tbsp white table sugar
  • 2 tbsp water

Combine all ingredients in one bowl. Mix with hand mixer for at least three minutes until caramel colored and fluffy.

This was so good!

I spooned it on warmed half and half and ate it. Then I took the rest and stuck it in the freezer. Maybe it will make a mock ice cream. 😉
